The money collected in the Equity Fund will be donated to schools without PTA fundraisers. This Equity Fund is a first step towards addressing the inequity of some Seattle schools receiving funding for staff and supplies from their PTAs while others do not. 

The Montlake PTA has been donating money to other schools in the community, like Lowell and the SE Seattle Schools Fundraising Alliance in recent years. In this year’s PTA budget, we have committed to donate 10% of our total expense budget to schools that do not have significant PTA fundraisers.  This is the minimum amount that we will donate.  All of what is collected in the Equity Fund will be donated to these schools.

Participate in a virtual raise the paddle in addition to any auction bidding you participate in.  These donations will become part of the PTA general fund.  As a reminder, the auction items alone will not get us to $150k, generous donations by our community will be needed,  As such, our goal is 80% participation by each class.

We are breaking giving down by class so that those classes with 80% participation in the paddle raise get a pizza party! Note: There is no minimum donation requirement! If your company matches donations and would prefer to do it entirely through your company, please email fundraising@montlakepta.org and give us a heads up so we can track that for participation/pizza party purposes.
