Welcome to our 2022 Annual Spring Fundraiser!
For a glorious 14 days, starting Thursday, May 12th and ending Thursday, May 26th (with a smashing community picnic event on Friday, May 20th), your dedicated Spring Auction will focus on “A Day in the Life” of our wonderful, little school.
Our goal here is not only to raise $75K needed to fund critical elements of our school (details on just how this money is spent is below), but to showcase all of the things - big and small - that make it such a special place.
Why Does the PTA Fundraise? (it’s actually a pretty big deal)
Like every public school, Seattle Public Schools doesn’t provide enough funding to pay for some of Montlake’s critical staff positions and services that benefit our students. As such, we rely on 2 primary fundraisers a year to fill the gaps.
Specifically, the donations this year went to fund:
School Counselor (fully funded by the PTA; 0.5 of a full-time salary)
Art Teacher (half is funded by the PTA to make up a full-time position)
Academic Interventionist (.3 FTE funded by the PTA)
Tutors (3 positions were to be funded by the PTA)
Community events - enrichment budgets for classrooms, assemblies, classes, staff appreciation, educational services, community support, etc.
We know that through auction proceeds and individual and corporate matching donations, we can meet and maybe exceed our $75K minimum goal!

BID ANYTIME DURING THE 2 WEEKS
The campaign will last 14 days in May: Thursday May 12th - Thursday May 26th, with an outdoor community event on Friday, May 20th.

We will add new and very fun items each day, so read your email and keep checking the auction website by viewing the catalog of items under ONLINE AUCTION at the very top of this page.
You don’t have to participate in the auction (but it is really fun!) and can choose to donate directly to our school or to the equity fund. In our budget, we have committed 10% of our budget to communities and schools in need, including Lowell Elementary. 100% of the money collected for this equity fund goes to this cause.
ATTEND THE COMMUNITY EVENT on Friday, May 20th 5-8pm
This is all about commuity and we want to celebrate our wonderful network! This is typically an organizaed, outside 'casual' event where you and your family can grab a local dinner (Burb's and Cafe Lago will be involved!) and meet at the park to hang. Details to come as we near the date so please put on your calendar.
